What we Believe

We believe in The Apostles’ Creed, which embodies all the major doctrines of orthodox Christianity. Furthermore, we uphold the following beliefs: *

We believe in the Holy Bible as the infallible Word of God, fully inspired, and the rule of faith and practice. It is the foundation upon which our church seeks to operate.

We believe that there is only one true and living, Eternal GOD, who is represented in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are co-equal and infinite in power and glory. He is holy, loving, and merciful, all wise, all knowing, and present everywhere. This Almighty God created, sustains, preserves, and governs all things according to His own will.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, his substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people; and we expect His personal, visible return to earth. We believe that He is truly and properly man, and truly and properly God.

We believe that all people are sinners, by nature and by choice, falling short of God’s revealed standards and breaking His commandments – and therefore are under God’s righteous judgment by default. Nevertheless, God saves us from this judgement, and gives new life to all who come to Him through his Son, Jesus, in repentance and faith.

We believe that Jesus died for our sins on the Cross of Calvary, taking our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s wrath that should have come upon us. Since Jesus died for the sins of the world, the invitation to believe is open to all, and whoever desires may come to Jesus for new life and receive the forgiveness of sins.

We practice baptism for believers, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, by full immersion in water, which is not necessary for salvation, and cannot remove sins, but is a demonstration of the salvation already received by the believer, and affirms their entrance into a new life in Christ.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who convicts people of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. He gives life, makes people holy, and empowers followers of Jesus for ministry.

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience to that of a Christian’s new birth; occurring, either subsequent to, or simultaneous with salvation, evidenced by a dynamic power in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, most especially love. We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit in regard to the exercise of all spiritual gifts, in accordance with the Scriptures.

We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head, and all who are born from above are made part of this Body of Christ.

We believe that God created mankind male and female. As such, He created them differently, to complement and complete each other. We believe that, in the beginning, God instituted monogamous, heterosexual marriage between a man and a woman as the foundational example for the family and the basic structure of human society.

We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to earth and the establishment of His everlasting kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of all human beings, and in the final judgment; knowing that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity with the Lord in his new creation, while those who consciously reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will be separated from him and all his goodness forever.
